Infrastructure: Valuable Insights from City Engineers, Planners, and Mayors

Panelists will discuss challenges and solutions to funding and maintaining infrastructure, such as roads and water treatment plants, and what that means for engineers. Students will learn aspects in which their skills gained through higher education can benefit their communities. This panel discussion is part of the course Engr 400, Leadership & Professionalism in Engineering. Panelists: Chris Marsalis, Mayor, City of Ripley; Pat Patterson, Mayor, City of Oxford; Gene McGee, Mayor, City of Ridgeland; Bart Robinson, City Engineer and Director of Public Works, City of Oxford; Mike McCollum, Director of Public Works, City of Ridgeland; Chris Bryson, City Engineer, City of Ridgeland; Ian Banner, Director of Facilities Planning and University Architect, University of Mississippi; Jim Reeves, Alderman, City of Oxford 1985-1993
